LOCAL ACTIVITIES

Activities - January & February 2013 - Food

11/2/2013

In this part of the project our group explored what food is eaten in Cyprus on a daily basis. Is it the traditional Cypriot cuisine?

One part of the project was implemented with the help of a group of persons from different backgrounds married to Cypriots and integrated into Cypriot families, who talked to us about the food they eat at home.

Activities - September & October 2012  - Architecture

 24/10/2012

For the architecture project the Cypriot group decided to research the architecture of old Nicosia. Information was found in various books such as

Niki Marangou - Nicosia. The History of the City

and websites referring to issues in Nicosia's architecture such as the Nicosia Master Plan (read more) Nicosia Master plan (read more about it) and the endangered buildings of the old city.
The group decided to make take pictures of old doors documenting the individual character of the buildings in the old town.

Activities - April & May 2012

After the Easter holidays our group got together for an animation workshop. The aim of the workshop was to learn the techniques and make some trial versions for our history project. We decided to create a short film about medieval Cyprus, probably the story of Richard the Lionhearted and Berengaria. The group will get together in May to create the film. If you want to see some of the experimental films created during the workshop please go to http://youtu.be/CUIaFb78ZZY and http://youtu.be/I4ezh92dxmk.
